Prestart inspection and Information Gathering

Conduct a preliminary visual inspection of the engines and engine room to verify overall system readiness. Record all engine and generator model and serial numbers to cross-reference factory technical specifications. Prior to initial startup, install any brand-specific diagnostic equipment and connection interfaces to log live data.

Sea Trial and Oil Sample Collections

Perform a comprehensive sea trial with an experienced captain to evaluate the vessel under load and inspect for fluid leaks. Operate at wide-open throttle (WOT) to verify the engines achieve full manufacturer specifications and run a suite of brand-specific ECM diagnostics. Immediately upon returning to the dock, extract oil samples while the engines are hot to ensure thorough fluid suspension.

Post Sea Trial Engine(s) and Engine Room Inspection

Conduct a secondary visual inspection of the engines and engine room spaces, checking thoroughly for any fluid leaks, component displacement, or mechanical abnormalities. If applicable, will scope any coolers and perform relative compression checks (diesel engines) or actual compression test (gasoline engines).

Written Report with Pictures and Oil Sample Analysis

Our comprehensive findings will be delivered to you in a written report, complete with photographic documentation of any identified issues. Fluid samples are immediately dispatched to an independent laboratory for analysis; we will forward those results to you as soon as they are released. Once you have both pieces of data, we can schedule a follow-up call to discuss how the mechanical diagnostics align with the overall marine survey findings
